Today's excursion was incredible! We traveled to two different villages in order to meet a Master for pottery making and a Master for wood sculpting. We watched a demonstration for creating traditional black pottery, a process which which in full takes over a month to complete. At the second village we met Zeny Fuentes, a Master of wood sculpting who is known across the world and has traveled over the States, Britain, Mexico, and China to give lessons and display his art. The pieces in his studio were beautiful! While we were there he had everyone compete in a painting competition, with a prize going to the top three painters. We each were able to select a already carved piece, and had 45 minutes to paint. Suffice to say I'm definitely not the as talented as Master Zeny!
The baseball game today was rained out so we just sat in the stadium for an hour, just hanging out. Tonight we are going to put our Salsa dancing skills to work at a nearby club! (We had lessons yesterday . . . they were rough). I 'll get those pictures up as soon as I can! Buenos Noches!!
