During one Sunday evening several of us went to a dance/drama performance at a nearby theater. Above is a clip of one of the dances, performed by the University Dance group.
During our hike up (and down) a mountain near La Salle, Spencer and I decided to run down part of the mountain . . . it was possibly the most tiring part of the whole trip.
Parades are extremely common in downtown Oaxaca and we frequently saw them throughout the streets. Each parade is complete with many musicians, large puppet like figures, and many MANY people.
On our final Friday of the trip, we attended a Guelaguetza at one of the most prestigious hotels in the city. The wonderful buffet was followed by a sample of each of the 8 traditional dances found throughout Oaxaca.
